Resources- Employer- Candidate Employment Arrangements

Your Parttime Workforce has separated Parttime Candidates into four categories. The following descriptions have been suggested for consistency throughout  the YPW site for both employers and candidates to consider when posting jobs or their candidate profiles. These descriptions in no way indicate any legal arrangements that may arise from the site as these will be specific to each employer and candidate. 

Permanent	A position created for an indefinite period. (ie with no specified end date)
Temporary/Casual	A position that is short term and less than three months
Contract	A position for a specified term that includes a start and finish date
Freelance	A position for individuals who are looking for contract work and desire to work with an ABN as sole traders or through a company or standalone companies.

To be clear in your obligations as an employer in regards to the different categories of employment, www.workplace.gov.au does provide a good starting point. Naturally, while a Candidate may choose to register in any of the above categories the nature of the employment relationship will depend on each individual situation.

YPW recommends your employment arrangements with any candidate are in writing and signed by both yourself and the candidate to minimise possible confusion and the potential for misunderstanding.
